He had zest for life and drive for hard work. Dedicated to living each day to the fullest he enjoyed a 5 mile run with his two faithful campanions King our black lab and Rocket our blonde lab
Fitness was one of the ways Mike relieved stress if he wasn't running he was lifting weights in his workshop. Although he didn't get to enjoy too many days off from work, he was on cloud nine if he had time off and could spend with his family.
Besides riding his fourwheeler or building something in his shop one of Mike's favorite past times was going to Lake Sara in Effingham Illinois at his parents cabin.
He would ski, tube, knee board...you literally couldn't get him to stop......he LOVED being on the water.

Just before he passed I had given him a wakeboard for his birthday Oct. 10, 2004....only getting to try it one time it was obvious if he had more time he would have mastered that water sport as well
Jared and Kayla were his pride and joy, he loved every moment he shared with his children. Jared and Mike shared a father son bond that will never be replaced. They hung out together when ever possible tinkering in the garage, riding the fourwheeler or playing ball.

Kayla and her father enjoyed the love of horses. Even though we are unable to keep Sunny Two Sox at our home where Mike designed and built two horse stalls.

We found a farm 2 miles away from home and the family helped take down the stalls Mike built to rebuild them in Sunny's new barn. He said it is almost like Mike designed them to fit like a glove! Kayla has a young friend she can now ride with and Sunny is still close to home.
Losing Mike has forever changed our lives, but his memory will live on within our hearts. I was so fortunate to have found true love... to have been loved in return by such an inspiring person. He touched so many lives and overcame hardship in his own life to become one of the hardest working, intelligent, caring individuals in this world. My heart breaks for Jared and Kayla for losing their father and friend, they loved him and still love him deeply. We will miss continuing to make memories together as a family but we look forward to the day when we are home together again.

In the mean time we keep looking for rainbows and listening for windchimes....they remind us he is still with us!
 ~ God's Rainbow ~
The falling rain dissolves into mist And the thunder begins to die; As the sporadic lightning fades, An arch of colors pours from the sky.
Rainbows appear after mighty storms When things look their worst; Just when the skies are darkest gray, Out of heaven does the rainbow burst.
God first sent the rainbow to Noah As a sign that His word is true; The rainbow's eternal message Still speaks to me and you.
The rainbow is a sign of God's promise That He will guide us through any storm; That He will ease all our troubles No matter what their form.
When you feel battered by life's storms And you are filled with doubt and dismay, Just remember God's rainbow is coming For it's blessing ... you only have to pray.

In Our Hearts
We thought of you with love today, But that is nothing new. We thought about you yesterday, And days before that too. We think of you in silence, We often speak your name. Now all we have is memories, And your picture in a frame. Your memory is a keepsake, With which we’ll never part. God has you in his keeping, We have you in our Hearts! I pray for the families and victims
of teenage reckless driving.
I pray for an answer to end these senseless deaths caused by reckless teenage driving.

Life is not a race - but indeed a journey. Be honest. Work hard. Be choosy. Say "thank you", "I love you", and "great job" to someone each day. Go to church, take time for prayer. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh. Let your handshake mean more than pen and paper. Love your life and what you've been given, it is not accidental - search for your purpose and do it as best you can. Dreaming does matter. It allows you to become that which you aspire to be. Laugh often. Appreciate the little things in life and enjoy them. Some of the best things really are free. Do not worry, less wrinkles are more becoming. Forgive, it frees the soul. Take time for yourself - plan for longevity. Recognize the special people you've been blessed to know. Live for today, enjoy the moment.
